At nearly 110 years old, vactioner Marianne Winkler’s find on the German island of Amrum last April was truly one for the books. After finding a very weathered old bottle with paper inside, Winkler decided to open it up and investigate.
“It’s always a joy when someone finds a message in a bottle,” the retired post office worker told local website Amrum News. “Where does it come from, who wrote it and how long has it been traveling on the winds, waves and currents?”
