We’ve all heard the horror stories about people eating other people, and most assume that cannibals are old wives’ tales. Unfortunately, the horrific act of eating human flesh is more real–and common–than you might think.
Here, we list 5 of the most recent–and horrific–stories of cannibalism from around the globe. Consider this your warning…these stories get VERY graphic…
- One woman in Australia killed her partner, chopped him into pieces and fed him to his own kids! See one image from her crime scene, below.
- The proud cannibal Armin Miewes met his willing victim online. The two met up, cut off, cooked and ate the victim’s cooked penis together…right before Miewes stabbed him with a 12-inch knife. After it was over, Miewes filleted the rest of the body and prepared it according to cannibal cookbooks he had on-hand. (And if you can’t get enough of this grotesque tale, watch his entire documentary!)
- A German tourist was allegedly eaten by a tribe of cannibals on the island of Nuku Hiva in the Pacific Ocean. Human remains near the tribe’s campsite are being tested for DNA.
- Four men went on a trip in Siberia and only two came back. The two survivors say they only ate the flesh of one of their best friends after he had already died, but the police investigation says otherwise…
- The mother who skinned her own son and fed him to her cannibal relatives. As part of an extreme religious cult called the Grail Movement, she and many others routinely locked up, tortured, skinned and ate the young members of the cult.
